National Energy Resources Organization
(NERO) is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to engage in dialogue on
energy issues, recognize outstanding achievements, and promote public awareness.
NERO is the primary networking organization for energy interests in
Washington, DC. NERO also recognizes outstanding achievements in the
advancement of energy policy, public outreach, innovation and distinguished
service. NERO creates opportunities for its corporate, individual, and
government members to interact with Congressional policymakers and senior
Administration officials. Our diverse membership includes companies and
individuals from all facets of the energy community. NERO is unique because it
brings all the voices of the energy community to the table.
Our Mission is simple...
To engage in dialogue,
recognize outstanding achievements, and promote public awareness on all
pertaining to energy;
To bring together all
interested parties for the purpose of exchanging and disseminating information
to the public about energy development, supply and use;
To promote an integrated
long-range national energy policy and implementation strategies;
To explore ideas about
developing energy resources in environmentally appropriate ways;
To foster actions to
increase energy efficiency;
To stimulate through
conferences, seminars and other educational means, the advancement of energy
To encourage the creative
application of energy resources for the public benefit through advancement in
technology and innovation; and
To recognize and honor
individuals and organizations for distinguished service and outstanding
achievements in the field of energy conservation development.
NERO was founded in 1975
in the aftermath of the oil shocks, as a way to link industry representatives
and national policy makers as they discussed solutions to the energy crisis.
From just a handful of participants in the early days, NERO has grown to
include over 120 companies, associations, individuals and public officials. It
is the premier non-profit organization in Washington dedicated to non-partisan
discussions of national energy policy. NERO does not lobby, but rather is a
non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
